This is quite a bit different than most of the low VOC paint/primer combos I have used in the past. For one thing, this stuff is thick. Really thick. The consistency is like something in-between a cheap primer product and drywall. It's like painting with peanut butter almost. This has both some advantages and drawbacks. The main drawback is that you have to have a REALLY clean surface to work with or this paint will not stick to it. It also can not be easily mixed with other primers because the consistency is so totally different than most. It would be like trying to mix oil with water almost.The upside to this paint include the fact that as long as you are working with a clean, flat surface this stuff really does cover in one coat and will cover up nearly anything underneath. Obviously, the darker the color of this paint/primer the better, but even using the lightest shade it will cover nearly any darker color underneath. Once dried it is extremely stain resistant and easy to clean.One other thing worth mentioning is the color naming convention used in the advertising. When I ordered this through Amazon I saw the words "eggshell" in the description,so I assumed that the color would be an off-white shade. Silly me. This egg seems to be more beige than any eggshell I have ever seen. So, pay close attention to the color swatches on the product page, lest you end up with a color that you weren't expecting.

I'm a big fan of this versatile product line from Glidden. I've been getting their "One Coat" Eggshell Interior Paint + Primer for some time now. It costs a bit more, but simplifies the painting process. The warm Beige/Dusty Trail hue is mellow and unobtrusive enough for total wall coverage and it also makes a great accent color. It's on the lighter side of Beige but match some of my work slacks. The one gallon cans ship with the lid double secured and wrapped in plastic. It is easy to open though, and all I need to do is shake it up a bit (or stir) and then pour it into my pan. It rolls onto the walls smoothly and doesn't splatter easily, though that is always a concern. It can have some streaks at first but it evens out when it dries and provides excellent coverage. You may need to touch it up in the corners, but generally one coat is all it takes to cover the previous paint and marks on the wall. In rare instances a second application might be necessary to make it perfect.A single coat of Eggshell (Satin) has excellent opacity and the finish is somewhere between flat and semi-gloss. It can be used just about anywhere in the house. I enjoy the oh-so slight shimmer that 'eggshell' provides. It dries quickly (but not too quickly) and is durable as all get out after 24 hours. When set, is simple to wipe clean with a light cleanser or soapy water. There is the distinct scent of paint when applying it, but nothing offensive or too intense, so don't worry about using it in confined spaces. Said scent dissipates quickly in 12-36 hours. Color is a personal preference, and I find the Beige/Dusty Trail hue to be relaxed yet refined looking - both cozy and cottagy. Cleanup takes some time since this is such a thickly pigmented paint, but it is easier to work with than some other brands I've used in the past, and a lot easier than oil based paints. You pay a premium for this top of the line Glidden, but you get your money's worth. I can't speak to the lifetime guarantee, but it does add peace of mind that it will last.~ Kort
