Good story
“Lucky” kept me engaged from start to finish. No spoilers here! I found the character of Lucky endearing. It’s important to want to root for your protagonist. John was a very likable con man, which is kind of hard to pull off. The story flowed nicely. The ending seemed maybe just a little too abrupt; I would have liked to read more about Lucky in her new situation. Overall I really enjoyed this book.

Fun and Engaging! Highly Recommend!
Loved this one! This book was SO much fun to read! This is a captivating story about an engaging con artist named Lucky (aka Luciana, Alaina and Andi) on the run from law enforcement and learning about herself along the way.Lucky was raised by her grifter father and spent her childhood bouncing from one con game to another. She always yearned for a “normal” life and almost had one, until things went terribly wrong.”Blind trust makes the world go ’round, kid,” her father would say. “And when it comes around to you, you grab that brass ring. Take what you can.”This is a unique story and I could not put it down! The alternating timelines built to a twist that I did not see coming. I absolutely loved this story about redemption and second chances. Highly recommend!“𝙉𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢. 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨. A bit too lucky to be believed
I thought the storyline of this book was great, but the writing lacked maturity. Characters needed more fleshing out, and things just miraculously happened without enough build-up. For miracles to be plausible, the reader needs to be given more. Also, it needs another proofread. It was okay for a light read, but I'm not sure how this made Reece's book club pick.

Lucky and the lottery ticket
Great Read/Listen!! What do you do when you are given a life that you probably wouldn’t have chosen for yourself? You make the best of it and do what you learned to do. I loved Lucky’s character and how she was good at the con life, but deep down, she just wanted to be a good person and not have to worry about what the next job would be. This totally gave me Curly Sue vibes, and I love it!

A fast, fun, if not somewhat predictable, read.
I read this book in a couple days. It's an easy read, but the story is interesting and the characters are well developed. The ending is quite predictable, but didn't take away from enjoying the book.

Good read, characters for whom you develop feelings
The main character grew up being conned by her conman father and then by her conman boyfriend. I had a hard time getting through the first 2/3 of the book because I struggled with the constant abuse ( mental, not physical) deception and mistreatment of the main character. Every time she thought she got a break, somehow she was deceived by those she loved and trusted. I was happy with the ending and the lessons taught. Glad I worked through to the ending. Enjoy.

Lucky she is!
No spoilers but oh my Lordy this book is a page turner. All the way up to 25% of the book my eyes would grow big then simmer down. At 52% of the book I was biting my nails with huge bulging eyes (some twists I kinda figured would be happen but kinda shocked me when it came to pass), but that 62% on up I was on the edge of my seat wishing it was a movie I've seen before so I could just fast forward lol. Through out the entire read I felt like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.Four stars because of the going back to when Lucky was a kid every other chapter. This book is a must for a good quick read.

Could use a little realism
OK read, quick read, but just very unrealistic. Why does the hero always have gorgeous hair and bright eye colors?

A MASTERFULLY PACED CRIME CAPER!
I could NOT for the life of me put this book down (I finished it just shy of 2:00 this morning)! International bestselling author Marissa Stapley has masterfully crafted a crime story that zigzags across America, from the city to the country and back again, while her protagonist, Lucky Armstrong, tries to un-Bonnie herself from a Clyde caper. It’s no wonder why Hollywood snapped up the rights to this fantastic page turner 😃 Don’t miss this incredibly fast paced thrill ride! 🚙💰🍀✨

Spannend bis zum Schluss, Exciting to the end.
The story about a young woman named Lucky, ...it switches with every chapter from her past up to her present until it all comes together. A fantastic read.

She's so lucky
Gripping from the start and you can't stop wanting to know more. Lucky does her name proud. Can't get luckier than that. I loved the storyline, going back and forth. Moments of cheering, sadness, shaking your head and shouting "don't trust them!".Loved that Lucky got her lucky end, pity that the reunion with Armstrong wasn't too elaborated.I enjoyed this. Different to anything else I've read. Recommended for a fast paced, gripping read. Can't help but cheer her on!

Lucky
I came across Marissa recently through her festive co-written title under pen name Maggie Knox - The Holiday Swap. All last year I tried to keep up with the books in Reese Witherspoon’s book club and Marissa is the author of Lucky, the December choice. I enjoyed the writing in The Holiday Swap and found I took to the writing in Lucky just as easily. The story follows our main character Lucky, daughter of a con artist turned con artist herself. She’s on the run and planning to get safely to somewhere with lax extradition rules. The story is a time flip between the present - set in 2008 - and the past following Lucky as she grows up working with her Father, and her life after his arrest. In the scenes narrating the past, I found there was a bit of a lull when I lost interest however as the present is interspersed frequently throughout my interested remained.Lucky finds out more about herself as the story unfolds including finding out her mother’s identity and reaching a form of redemption. I felt that the end of the book all happened very quickly and all of a sudden I was on the last page. I feel like there could have been a bit more focus on the end, given the detail of how Lucky came to be in the position we first meet her in.
