One of The Best
One of the best ultimate comics released, fantastic storyline and outstanding artwork, 100% well worth purchasing for any X-Men or Wolverine fan

Tries to fix the problems of Ultimates 3 (like Days of Future Past did with X-men 3)
This story makes revelations in Ultimates 3 far more clear and well-told. They can't really fix that terrible story but it does its best

Excellently crafted story of past and present relevant to the current Ultimateverse
Every once in a while Marvel readers could be forgiven for giving `another' Wolverine offering a bit of a wide berth as the chap does seem to get about a bit, and of course a little thing like death does not stop a Marvel character worth their salt.Anyhow this one is a very worthwhile addition to current runs on the Ultimate X-men and Ultimates which have a recent history of criss-crossing quite neatly.Initially this picks up on the loose threads left from the promising Ultimate Comics X: Origins which was overwhelmed by later arcs. If you have read that then you will recall that Jimmy Hudson found out his biological father was Wolverine. This volume is a mix of Wolverine's past and the events which led to Jimmy and Jimmy's search for this knowledge. The past shows a more independent Wolverine than the Weapon X one of the earlier Ultimate X-men arcs.Into this tale we have an Ultimates take on Magda (Magneto's wife in `616') she is still shown to have had a relationship with Magneto and is still the mother of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. I fill say no more for there are some interesting twists and turns which makes for an intelligent, logical and entertaining read.In the present Jimmy aided by Black Box has to contend with a bunch of forgettable hired mercs also on the trail of the secret and Quicksilver who, to me, comes across as a peripatetic Hamlet and is on a mission of his own not dissimilar to those of his fathers. Without giving too much away, the quest involves a project called `Mothervine' which bears similarities to `Weapon X', again no more as that might invoke spoilers.Much action, narrative, put together stylishly. Black Box is given several places to shine and Jimmy would not have got anywhere without him. Good set-too's between Jimmy and Quicksilver. And we get to see Jimmy's foster parents briefly, and these must be the nicest and level headed pair ever encountered in the Marvel-verses.This also keeps continuity with both Ultimate Comics X-Men by Brian Wood Volume 2 and Ultimate Comics Ultimates by Jonathan Hickman - Volume 2 If you have been keeping in touch with and enjoying the above arcs then this is well worth the investment
