Clean Green contains 100% organically grown ingredients and is free of gluten and is vegetarian, vegan approved. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) All parts of the humble Dandelion have long been used medicinally in European herbal traditions (‘dandelion’ comes from the medieval French ‘dent de lion’, or ‘teeth of the lion’. It was also known as ‘pis en lit’, or ‘wet the bed!). Naturalised across the New as well as the Old world, it is now commonly considered to be an invasive and unwanted weed, although children continue to use its bright, cheerful flowers to test their love of butter and young lovers blow the seed-heads to determine the depths of their affections. The bitter greens of Dandelion are still eaten as vegetables by the health conscious and its mildly bitter root is used alongside Chicory as a coffee substitute. Taste the joy of dandelion in Cleanse Tea, Clean Green Tea and Clean Greens superfood powder. It will get you roaring with life. Fennel (Foeniculum) With its distinctive yellow flowers, fennel is an aromatic herb that grows to heights of up to 2.5m. It is widely cultivated for its edible, strongly flavoured leaves and seeds. Fennel has long been respected for its soothing effect on the digestive system and is grown widely for its mouth-wateringly sweet seeds. With their sweet fennel coming from organic farms in Turkey it absorbs the dry inland warmth and creates an intensely high level of the most divine essential oils. They just love fennel for her ability to soothe even the grumpiest of tummies. It leads the way in Three Fennel (obviously!), Detox, Cleanse and many more… Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) Green tea, as the name suggests, is made using the new and fresh leaves of the tea plant and has been famousily used for centuries in Japan for its detoxifying properties and has been sipped as an elixir in China for many centuries too. The leaves used for making green tea come from ‘unfermented’ leaves that are flash dried. This gives green tea a lighter flavour and a higher content of antioxidants than black tea. They use whole green tea leaves from three different countries; Da Zhang Sencha from China, Oothu Green from the Western Ghats and Suoi Gang from Vietnam. The Suoi Gang tea plants are left to grow into full sized trees and, like the H’mong harvesters, you have to climb the trees to harvest the leaves. Lemon (Citrus limon) The fruit of the lemon tree is cultivated in tropical climes globally, and loved for its sweet-sourness worldwide. Interestingly, the precise origin of the Lemon is not clear but it is believed that the trees first grew in Northeast regions on India, Burma and China. It is also thought that the Lemon is actually a hybrid of a sour orange and the citron fruit which looks like a wrinkly lemon. Oh well, botany has a complex evolutionary history! Packed with Vitamin C, bioflavonoids and essential oils they use slow-dried whole lemons from Sicily in Natural Vitamin C (their organic version of the mass produced ascorbic acid made primarily from GM Corn sugar), Lemon & Mandarin Tea, Clean Green Tea and Detox with Lemon Tea (coming soon). Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) An evergreen tree, Lemon Myrtle is a native of the sub-tropical rainforests of South Eastern Australia and can grow up to 60 feet tall although it's often much smaller. It produces beautiful white flowers throughout the summer and into autumn and as with Lemon Balm, the leaves emit a delicious lemon scent when crushed or bruised. Licorice (Glycrrhiza glabra) They are in love with licorice at Pukka. Sweet, earthy and delicious it perfectly harmonises the perfect cup of tea. Growing in sandy soils its creeping roots spread i
