Buy with confidence.
SLICK. Finally got around to using this and it worked great. Went exactly where I pushed it through insulation. A nice tool to have in the arsenal.

So Good I Bought It Twice (Yes, Even After It Broke)
I was running a wire through the wall and this little guy made the job ten times easier. It’s compact, simple to use, and actually gets the job done without turning into a tangled mess like some fish tapes do. Now, full honesty: the tip on my first one snapped off mid-job—which I assume was a one-off issue—but it was so helpful that I immediately bought a second. That one’s been perfect so far. For light jobs and tight spots, this tape is a total win.

Best fish tape I have ever had!
I expected a cheap, somewhat usable fish tape at this price, didn't expect to get the best one I have every used! Here's what I like about it:-VERY Inexpensive!-Love the grip handle-Love the winding mechanism, it works great!-Love how easy it is to pull out more tape-LOVE the end of it. normal fish tapes have the hooked end. This one is like an arrow, which makes it easy to fish into tight spots and it does not get caught up on things. It also makes it easy to tie wires to, as you can tie them right behind the head where the wire will not get caught up as well. Perfect design for your wiring needs!-AND the best feature of all, the non-conforming, always straight wire! I don't know how they do it, but the tape comes out straight as an arrow! This thing rocks! I can just feed it straight down a wall and it drops straight down to where I need it!This thing is a MUST have in any professional or amateur toolbox. Even if you only have a couple cables you need to wire, this thing more than pays for itself in time savings. Do not miss out!

Great for the price.
I actually used this to clear out some drain tubes in my car. And it worked great, especially with the ratcheted retracting design.Awesome little tool!

Surprising use for making homemade musical instruments.
This might be an unusual review:So, I did not use this for its expressed purpose. Instead, I cut the snake of spring steel into about 3 dozen lengths to use as tines for homemade thumb pianos (kalimbas, mbiras, what have you, look 'em up, you'll probably recognize them)The plastic casing stated that it contained some gnarly pthalates that are good for wreaking havoc on the human body, but it was assembled rather like Legos and came apart very easily, no crushing or cracking required. So that came off and went into the recycling, maybe to be turning into some other weird plastic mess, maybe to be dissolved into toxic goo, I don't know, it's probably not recyclable.Anyway, the spring steel uncoiled and I worked from there. It's not the best quality spring steel - it's not the best quality steel, period - but it keeps its form pretty well, and if you apply extra pressure, it'll keep that new form well too. For keys on a hand piano, it works so far. For that purpose however, the steel ribbon is a bit too wide, half a centimeter I think, and so these are all decidedly for bass tones.Affixed to a cigar box with an ugly, homemade nut, elevated and secured, it really does sound just fine. Some luck (or more likely, skill) is required, as many of them sound buzzy - still cool, just in a noise-genre sort of way. But hey, it's working out. Next time, I'd buy a spool of smaller fish tape. The thickness is good for this application, but yeah, maybe a bit too wide. Also, I have no idea what I'm doing. Anyway, great cable snake.

Excellent
Love this fish tape. Doesn’t have a curled memory like old ones. Pulls out and retracts smoothly. Appears to be of good quality

Tricky to unwind, but works fine after that
This unit is okay, but tricky to unwind. Here's my take:PROS:* Good length for running cables up/down walls, even two stories (from attic to ground floor, for example).* The tip has a hole which allows you to use a zip-tie to attach cables.* The crank winds the tape back in easily.* It is small and basically does what it says.CONS:* This is very, very difficult to unwind. I first tried to unwind this thing in my attic but gave up. This tool needs THREE HANDS to unwind - one to hold the handle, one to hold the tool itself, and another to pull the tape out. It's a huge pain. IN the end I had to hold the tool with my legs, and use my other hands to try to unwind it. It was slow, but I finally got it. Now I unwind the unit FULLY before I plan on using it.
