Q: Are the clams including shell?

No; no shells are included. The soup has a good clam flavor, but yo can only taste very small clam pieces. If you like clam taste, it's a tasty miso soup for this price. But I was expecting more clams in the soup, so I was disappointed. For this price, I should not expect too much I guess.

Q: how do I fix this , i received mine today but can not read any directions , I assume i mix with water each pack but how much water ?

Unpack and put Miso and ingredients in a wooden or ceramic bowl which is small than a cereal bowl. Pour the boiled hot water and mix gently to dissolve the Miso and soften the ingredients. Control the amount of the hot water for the taste you like.
